amazon is almost ready to launch music

Amazon is ALMOST Ready to Launch Music Store (with DRM-Free Content)

Cory already posted about this on Boing Boing before I was even awake,

but oh well...

It looks like Amazon is all set to launch their online music store

some time next month. Apparently they are planning to do so without

DRM protection, so it is most likely that most of their catalog will

come from EMI and independent labels. There is also word of a

partnership between Amazon and Universal to sell classical music

without DRM. Considering the fact that Universal is the #1 record

label, if this little experiment works out, good things could be in

store for all labels and all genres.
