Murphy 'Hired Detectives' To Tail Cheating Brown (Unbelievable...)

Posted at 12/11/2006 10:25:00 AM

Hollywood star Eddie Murphy allegedly dumped ex-girlfriend Melanie

Brown after being handed photographs of the former Spice Girl spending

time with another man last month (November). The Beverly Hills Cop

actor reportedly hired a team of private detectives to follow Brown

after becoming convinced she was cheating on him, and he ended their

relationship after they took photos of her meeting a male friend in

Los Angeles.

Brown and Murphy started dating in June, but the Hollywood star cut

all ties with the former Spice Girl earlier this past week and he's

now demanding a DNA test to determine whether he's the father of her

unborn baby. A close friend of Murphy tells British newspaper the News

Of The World, "Eddie had his suspicions that Mel was becoming close to

a guy he knows. He was furious when he saw the pictures. "It does on

the face of it seem spiteful to now doubt that he's the father of the

baby, but as far as he's concerned he's been humiliated too. He's just

evening the score."

ODB Album Delayed Over Legal Battle With Damon Dash

Posted at 12/11/2006 10:10:00 AM

Ol' Dirty Bastard's long-delayed posthumous album, A Son Unique, might

not see the light of day anytime soon due to a monetary dispute

between Damon Dash and the late rapper's estate.

According to the New York Post, Jarred Weisfeld, ODB's former manager,

and the rapper's widow, Icelene Jones, claim in papers that were filed

in Brooklyn Surrogate Court last month, that Dash still owes "a couple

hundred thousand more" on a contract he signed with the estate.

Dash, who owns the rights to A Son Unique, reportedly only shelled out

$1 million to ODB.

A Son Unique was scheduled for release last month but has yet to hit

shelves. ODB (born Russell Tyrone Jones) begun working on the album in

2004 but died from an accidental overdose while recording it.

"If money is still owed to the estate . . . Mr. Dash does not intend

to pay them and will drop his plans to release the record," Icelene

stated in the aforementioned court papers, which are part of an

ongoing battle over ODB's estate.

She also claims Dash has failed to turn over his documents related to

the deal. Dash's spokesperson would offer no comment when contacted.

As previously reported by SOHH, Icelene is fighting Weisfeld and ODB's

mother, Cherry Jones, for control of the deceased Wu-Tang member's

estate. She alleges that ODB's mother helped herself to hundreds of

thousands of her late husband's cash."

"It appears that $200,000 to $500,000 of funds belonging to [ODB] may

have been misused or be owed by Cherry Jones to the estate," Icelene

charged in the court papers.

"That's the most retarded allegation I've ever heard in my life,"

Weisfeld told The Post. "Icelene knows where all that money went - it

went to Icelene. All Dirty did was take care of her."

A Son Unique, which was to be released via Damon Dash Music Group,

features appearances from Macy Gray, Missy Elliott, RZA, Ghostface

Killah, Raekwon, Method Man, N.O.R.E., Pharrell and The Clipse, among

others.
