Pick-of-the-Day: 2/1/08

Every weekday at 1 PM listen up for the Philly Local Pick of the Day,

an especially rockin' sample track from the plethora of hot new tunes

Philadelphia has to offer.

____________

Philly Local Pick of the Day 2/1/08:

"Dover"

Two Wolves

John Flynn

This Temple University graduate intended to become a lawyer, but after

finding great success writing country music in Nashville, Tennessee

for major recording artists such as Billy Swan his life took a turn.

Luckily, in the early 90s this fantastic artist decided to step away

from the country music scene and come back to Philadelphia where he

eagerly began a career in Folk/Americana music. Now he contributes

greatly to Philadelphia's music sphere playing at both the

Philadelphia Folk Festival as well as many local venues. You can catch

him along with Greg Greenway tomorrow Saturday February 2nd, 2008 at

Steel City Coffee located in Phoenixville, Pennsylvania.

Also, it's the weekend so as usual that means lots of concerts are in

store. For instance, Philly Local indie rock band Illinois will be

playing at The Well also on Saturday night in Feasterville, PA along

with Outset, Daniel DeJesus, and Nick Piccari. Also on Saturday night

you can check out Tin Bird Choir at McCoole's Theater.

Remember, there is much more going on this weekend than what we can

put in a blog so be sure to check out WXPN's concert calender

regularly to stay updated on some of the great concerts the

Philadelphia region has to offer.

of informal songwriting session led to a full scale recording and now

a debut album that was co-produced by Simon and Bryce Goggin with

contributions by Sean Lennon, Yuka Honda and Matt Johnson. The album
